Colorado Inspirations

My ceramics are often inspired by the unique features of Colorado. The beautiful rock structures, appearing in shades of orange, tan, tiger's eye, and rust, offer a palette of earthy tones. Bright sky colors such as blue and teal, along with the vibrant hues of Aspen trees in the fall, provide further inspiration for my pottery.  I particularly enjoy enhancing my pieces with antlers, feathers, fibers, and wires to add texture and visual interest, echoing the varied and tactile beauty of the natural world.

Inspired by the greats

Several potters have inspired me in my pottery journey. Three potters whose ceramic pieces particularly focus on organic styles reflecting nature, are Akira Satake of Asheville, NC (akirasatake.com), Jena Bedson of Warburton, Victoria, Australia (jenabedsonceramics.com), and Takuro Shibata of Seagrove, NC (studiotouya.com).
